Fox does not have a merry Christmas

We’re rounding out the first year of “Standing Room Only” with an episode about how Fox News “celebrates” Christmas. These are joyless people, so their attempts at “fun” are even weirder than their usual war-on-Christmas lies.

Of course I had to bring on Salon’s Melanie McFarland to watch in horror with me. We laughed. We teared up (or I did). We were horrified by the right’s favorite network’s bizarre coverage.

We started this show in May and it’s just been getting wilder and more fun. Looking forward to a full year of “Standing Room Only!”

Fox News can’t even get their evil banality right

My guest was Salon TV critic Melanie McFarland, who had not seen any of these clips before we showed them to her. She had some wise words about how the network can’t even sell its banal on-air holiday chatter — even though that’s central to selling Fox’s authoritarian message.
