JD Vance and Erika Kirk: Peas in a creepy pod

Are they actual people, or AI?

JD and Erika are the same kind of creep

The infamous hug between JD Vance and Erika Kirk offers an excellent example of why I so enjoy hosting a YouTube show like “Standing Room Only.” It’s one thing to write articles describing how creepy both these people are. It’s another thing entirely to be able to show you directly.

We cover a lot in this episode, including how JD’s marriage to Usha Vance is becoming political liability for the likely 2028 presidential candidate. But truly, what stuck out to me in shooting this episode is that Erika and JD have the same uncanny quality to their personality, where it feels like everything they say is utter bullshit. You wonder if they actually still exist when the cameras turn off.

The Epstein files tell us what we already knew

My guest this week is Soraya Chemaly, the author of “All We Want Is Everything: How We Dismantle Male Supremacy.” Right before she showed up, the news broke that Jeffrey Epstein had once said that Donald Trump “knew about the girls.” Naturally, Soraya and I talked about it.
