The right breeds bad dads
Elon Musk, Pete Hegseth, JD Vance and more: These men all brag about having big families. But they’re also terrible fathers. On this week’s “Standing Room Only,” I look at why that is. The “quantity over quality” attitude is tied to ugly views on power and gender that lead to toxic — even abusive — parenting.
Pete Hegseth is a broken person
My guest this week is Steve Kennedy of the People’s Parity Project, who wrote recently in the New Republic about how a “parent’s rights” law in Texas could be interpreted to legalize child abuse. He’s also got a lot to say about Hegseth. The two men have a similar history, but Steve actually learned from lessons from it.
