The Satanic panic is all about trans people now

It’s Halloween, so of course we had to do a “Standing Room Only” about scary stuff. It’s not demons or Satans that terrify us, as much as the people who believe all that stuff is actually real.

This episode focuses on Riley Gaines, a former college swimmer who has reinvented herself as a professional anti-trans bigot. Worse yet, she’s taken to condemning trans people in language that quite literally demonizes them.

What to do with Trump’s ballroom?

My guest this week is Stacy Lentz, a co-owner of the famous Stonewall Inn, where the modern LGTBQ rights movement really took off. We spoke about her work with the Stonewall Gives Back Initiative, and oshe ffered some choice rebuttals to people who want to erase trans people from the history of queer rights activism.

We also had some fun talking about what the next Democratic president should do with the ridiculous ballroom Donald Trump is supposedly sticking onto the White House.
