Have more babies — for your health?
We had so much fun filming this episode of “Standing Room Only.” Our villain of the week is also a true oddball. Alex Clark is headling the Turning Point USA women’s conference this summer, so you know the right-wing vanguard thinks she’s a big deal. Clark is a wellness influencer who argues getting married young and having babies amounts to a women’s health treatment.
But here’s the thing: She is 33, isn’t married and has no kids. All of which would be fine, of course — except for the fact that her whole job is to tell you that her own lifestyle is depressing and unhealthy. Sadly, that blatant hypocrisy isn’t stopping Clark from having a serious impact on women’s access to health care.
Joe Rogan is not a history professor
My guest this week is Rebecca Watson of Skepchick. In this clip, she discusses the fact that far too many people have abandoned reliable sources of information for podcasters like Alex Clark, who will literally tell them that voting rights for women was a mistake!
Rebecca explains why it sometimes feels easier and more satisfying to believe dumb lies rather than dealing with nuanced, often complicated truths.
