How Nicki Minaj is turning into Kid Rock

Outside of the Encore section, I don’t get to talk about music too much on “Standing Room Only.” This week is an exception, because we have a topic even political junkies care about: popular musicians who turn MAGA. From Kid Rock’s failed halftime “alternative” to Nicki Minaj’s phony God talk, we run the gamut of why this happens and why it matters.

Just admit you were lip-synching!

My guest this week is hip-hop commentator Jay Smooth, who correctly described Kid Rock’s attempts to deny that he lip-synched at the “alternative” halftime as “frontier gibberish.” The whole situation is very silly, but as we discuss in this clip, a very telling sign that Mr. Rock is trying to hustle a gullible MAGA audience.
